The Social Science club today (17/07/24) screened the documentary film "Oru Nila Theerathu - On the shores of Nila." 



Nila (Bharatappuzha), the second longest river in Kerala, streches over 209 kilometers. Originating from the Thrimoorthy Dam located in the Anaimalai hills in the Western Ghats of Tamil Nadu, it flows westward through Kerala and meets the Arabian Sea at Ponnani in the Malappuram district. Known as the Nila River, it has four significant tributaries: Gayathripuzha, Chitturpuzha, Kalpathipuzha, and Thuthapuzha. As all these tributaries converge and join the Arabian Sea at Ponnani, the river is also referred to as the Ponnani River.

The Amaravathi River in Tamil Nadu originates from a lake in the Thrimoorthy Hills and flows as Amaravathi, transforming into Shokanashini, Chitturpuzha, and Kannadipuzha as it progresses through Palakkad.

The Resource Person for the session was Dr. PB Darade , Associate Professor,  Acharya Jawadekar College of Education, Gargoti - Kolhapur, Maharashtra. Dr. Darade is an eminent scholar with 20 years of teaching experience. His lecture was from 07pm to 08:30 pm. It was an interesting session, and all the participants appreciated it. Dr. Sankaranarayana Paleeri, Asst, welcomed the session. Professor and IQAC Coordinator. Vote of Thanks was delivered by Ms. Swathi, student, BEd - social science, first Semester.

Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav - Independence Day Celebration 2022 August 15 at NSS Training College, Ottapalam

  75th Year of Independence - Celebration at  NSS College, Ottapalam  The 76th Independence Day  - Azadi ka Amrith Mahotsav - has celebrated in NSS Training College, Ottapalam, on 15th August 2022. The celebration was so elegant with variety of programmes.  The college group was led by Nimisha Madhavan, student teacher, B Ed English. The group followed her commands and was ready to welcome the session of flag hoisting by 8. 45 am.  The session was welcomed by Dr. Sankaranarayanan Paleeri, coordinator of the programme. Flag was hoisted by Prof. Dr. Ampili Aravind, Principal of the college. She delivered the independence day message. Dr. Minikumari D (faculty member), Roshan, (B Ed student), and Savitha (M Ed student) were addressed the gathering. Rashmi, S (M Ed student & coordinator) delivered vote of thanks.
