 The teacher trainees of NSS Training College Ottappalam conducted the preliminary round of the *Freedom Movement Quiz* competition on 14th August, 2024 (Wednesday) among the students of 8th and 9th standard. Winners of the preliminary round are selected to the final round of the competition. 
Final round of the competition will be held on 19th August, 2024 (Monday).

As a part of independence day celebrations a quiz competition was conducted on 19/7/2024 Monday at School auditorium.The students selected by preliminary round were participated in this final round.Competition was solely meant for 8 and 9 classes. Competition starts at 3.00 PM.15 questions were asked by 2 rounds ,and Sreelakshmi M titled the first prize for the competition.Abhinav Krishna C G and Navami krishna were won the second prize

On August 21, 2024 (Wednesday) Samagra Shiksha Keralam, B.R.C Ottapalam and CUSAT Kochi organised a meeting at Panchayat Office, Vaniamkulam at 2.30 pm. The program was inaugurated by Panchayat President, Ananganadi Gramapanchayat, who provided an informative speech which included the local geography and history of the area through which the Nila river flows and yet people faces scarcity of drinking water.
The project instructor displayed the objective of the project and gave a structure on how the students will be working in the first phase of the project. 15 students each from TRK HSS Vaniyamkulam and GVHSS Koonathara have been chosen for the same. The students are required to collect data through surveys and interviews with local residents, panchayat officials and farmers. The first phase report of this project has to be submitted on September 24, 2024. Teachers and teacher trainees of both the schools have to supervise the students for the successful submission of the work.
